No. After you have purchased a scary Halloween costumes for your child add some character to them by strategically ripping and placing blood stains on them. This will add to the effect of the costume overall. But, do not overdo it, a little goes a long way.
3. Give them Ghastly Props
You can’t be a fanatical axe murder without a hatchet, right? Purchase props that your children can carry around as they go from house to house. Ideally, you want to purchase props that fit comfortably in one hand since they will carry their buckets of candy in the other.
4. Make Your Pet Their Frightening Sidekick
Regardless of the costume you choose, your child needs a sidekick. A sidekick makes the costume more believable and it kicks the creativity factor up a notch. If your daughter is dressed as a witch, let her carry the family’s cat around. For your son’s serial killer costume, make your pet a victim with a prop blood-stained knife.
